In the case of this free-standing building, the location as well as the energy supply presented a challenge in providing optimum all-year-round air conditioning.

Solution

Due to the absence of other energy supply points (gas or district heating), the ideal choice for all-year-round air conditioning for this new building was monovalent heating and cooling. Both the office and the café are cooled/heated via cassettes, the ventilation system and underfloor heating. The info-centre therefore not only supplies its visitors with information, but also provides them and the in-house personnel with a pleasant environment suitable for both working and relaxing.

The info-centre which reopened in May 2006 on the main square in Bruck an der Mur, is undoubtedly a daring “eye-catcher” in otherwise rather traditional architectural surroundings.
